At a recent town hall meeting in Texas, Rep. John Culberson, R-Houston, was listening as a woman described her opinion about the current health care legislation. When a booming voice from the back shouted “Bull S……!”, Congressman Culberson’s response was swift and angry: “Whoa! Whoa! Sir, stop! No, no, no. No, Sir! … First of all, we never use such language to a lady… It’s not appropriate…”. How refreshing. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard anyone criticize another person for swearing. It’s been an even longer time since I’ve heard a man tell another to not talk like that in front of a woman. Thank you, Congressman Culberson. As a woman, I feel honored.
